Wallcoverings
Wallcoverings are making a resurgence in interior design. Grasscloth is a classic that is important in interior design this year. Albert Van Luit and Company have a new, custom-made, hand-woven stripe on natural grasscloth. The grasscloth has been woven and applied to a paper backing and finished with a six inch metallic multi-stripe. All color grounds have been overprinted with a metallic stripe of silver, gold, copper, pewter, or nickel.
York reports that flocked wallpaper is important this year. A luxury product at the turn of the century, Flock descended into cliché by the late 1970s, when most was made of brittle viscose rayon.
